Reading a licence check A QBCC check shows whether a licence is on the register, who holds it and which classes of work it covers. In Queensland, most building work over $3,300 needs a QBCC licence in the right class.
What the classes mean Each class is a type of work, such as Concreting or Plumbing and Drainage. A licence only covers the classes listed. A roof plumber licensed for Roof and Wall Cladding can't do the drainage unless that class is also shown.

Electrical work Electrical contractor licences come from the Electrical Safety Office, not QBCC. Where a business states an electrical licence on its website, we show it separately and say it has not been checked against the ESO register.
